Children Should Be Punished For Their Children Essay
As children get older and more curious, they often tend to find themselves in a bit of trouble. For parents, choosing the way in which they should punish their children can be a challenge. Some parents believe that spanking their children is the best approach. Other parents, however, believe that spanking their child is not correct and can cause problems for the child. That being said, for the most part, parents can agree that children need some sort of discipline. They may not agree on the exact way children should be punished, but most would agree that children need to be punished for their wrong doings. One way to avoid this conflict would be to simply allow parents to punish their children however they see fit. Instead of insisting that one parent knows better than the other, they should allow one another to punish their child the way they choose. To add to that, punishment can only go so far before it becomes abuse, in which case someone needs to step in. To add to that, educati ng parents on abuse, and how a child will respond to certain forms of punishment is another way to solve the problem. Some parents believe that spanking children is not the way to go about punishing them. ââ¬Å"Spanking doesn t make kids behave better right away and it leads to worse behavior in the long run, said Gers off, an associate professor of human development and family sciences at the University of Texas at Austin. Paradigms for People with Logical Processes-myassignmenthelp
Question: Discuss about theParadigms for People with Logical Processes. Answer: After going through the book I then landed up with a whole new set of mind and also viewpoint of thinking, judging and interacting capacity with other people. Stephens individual source of information and experiments it has enforced many worthy treasure into book and creating it into a good source of knowledge for many people who aspire to become highly effective person. The book of habits regards the distinctiveness of people from their own views, acts and characteristics and how one should use such factors in managing things and create change within ourselves plus in others as well. I can fairly say that Mr. Covey has made a lot of personality change within me and will have repeated ongoing memorandums inside my mind with my professional and social and personal life. The message in the book of habits ended a substantial impact on my leadership and follow up skills while communicating and listening to other people gathered around me has changed my viewpoint on respecting peoples respective assistances and status. The origination of the book of habits paradigms has also offered me you watch a great replication of my life in my work and going to the university. How Stephen emphasized on the realism and values as the two different charts within each person as a different standard and how our understandings reflects our actions made a sensation within me and this allowed me believe in my actions and apply to them based on the reality of what I see also what I should be. My inner being reflected at this of time while reading that how forceful it was and even I started changing my way of thinking. I was capable to analyze that I was involved in looking for the reality of life and what other people needed me to become in my professional and personal life and I totally forgot that what type of person I wanted become. My personality has become inflexible as I saw myself in a box with straightforward thinking people with logical processes. This case occurred due to my engineering career in this field. I had forgotten that how to think innovative and value the change happening in my life, I would have seen this change a developed myself and never question till this point of time. Mr. Coveys note lays emphasis on that we see the things in a way in which we want to see or we want to assume not in the way they actually are. The process of self-realization process to which I continued started at the beginning of the book by Stephen. This was incredible insight that how beautifully he targeted all the concepts accurately such growth, paradigm and change a new level of thinking. I was unable to help myself but engross with these studies and just sit there and analyze the how own thinking can be wrong only if I wanted to be a leader as well as an effective person. I actually realized that I always try to reach my goal through shortcut and try to something that I am not instead of taking the hard constructive road to achieve the place where I always wanted to be. I can say that this can also be a small image of my experience and paradigm where the road has sent me to or is that a habit which I have developed with the change of time? This is an interrogation to which I should consider and seek for answer from myself. What I have earned after reading the book is that I have to completely go through a change of my fundamental principles and attitude and try to develop myself and become an effective person to me and other people around me. A quote which Stephen conveys from page no 18 that really summarized my situated and hit me was: The process of ignoring the long gone roads and switching it with shortcut will not help in the process of development. This phrase is against the law of nature and seeking for such shortcut will only result in failure. As per my view, Mr. Coveys introduction to the book focusing on such notions is actually a point where a person can also self-analyze and look at what position they stand as an individual, look where is the base in their life a whether they should be there or they should not be there; development, personality, features, thinking, dreams and reality. The explanation of these seven aspects are further seen as a guide to improve the base and become a leader which they always wanted to be, influence positively and create successful results on not only individuals life but also in others life. My views on this part of the book were explained to which I was given enough time to evaluate myself and see where I position myself. I was expecting that these 7 habits would guide me for future actions and development program and changing myself according to desire paradigm that I had forgotten much before and was unable to achieve them. The recognition from the family, social and work life which I was occupied with having such an outcome on my views and progress allowed me to acknowledge the depth present in the book and focus on the true meaning of its motto. Later I encountered the fact that I was on the road of changing myself after this, I was able to see it clearly by the way I acted on things and imagined about real life understandings that I faced after going through this segment 7 Habits. As I started to go through the book habits which is explained by author Stephen Covey, in the following book, I sensed a relieved feeling and also I felt realization. My perspectives stated in above case, were somehow true and fair about the habits were relevant and confessed with a depth. I only could read the ideas also analyze that how my preferred paradigms were fluctuating to a different end point that I wanted to achieve. I knew that I had an operative target to achieve and the rules, or as Stephen describes it as the foundations, to achieve the set of goals that I aimed were now with me. The position beyond this state was to halt the stress that brought up on me by the reality and also it will drift me to be an active person, whether leader or subordinate that doesnt matter. I always dreamt of myself as a practical person till the time I read and implicated the true meaning of the words from the volume. The book 7 Habits of highly effective person which is written by Stephen has a simple quotation which actually changed my thinking of being a concrete person which is, we human existence are responsible for the decisions we make, actions we do in our life, one can also suppress their own feeling in order to make things happen and work as a practical person in real life. I felt that it is the need that I want to be purely practical also not let the circumstances that are around me, decide me and change me from changing me for an effective person. That time I was very approachable person in nature and my well-being, and again looking forward to Stephens discussion of paradigms, I never interrogated my state of affairs. This type of thinking really helped to change my attitude at my work place as well as at home and at university. I have actually started bec oming more practical than reactive and I know this will for sure help me with time. My increasing proactive nature always encouraged me to take initiatives and innovations such as, I finally started with reinventing sections of my house whose plans I have been canceling off from few years back and also I took the challenge for my future of becoming a chartered engineer to which I am applying currently. All these acts convey me that how in depth I was moved by Stephens motto and that my personality was changing in a positive way to be more proactive. I started to manage the problems occurring around me, be it at my workings or home in fact I was also initiating to put on quality standards in my work and I actually got affirmative results for the same from my manager on my workings at creating the first rough draft for assignment that has not ever operated in Sydney for rail purpose. I was thrilled by seeing such changes happening in my life and I am determined and seriously feeling to go for the Stephens 30 days challenge on the principles of practicality test. I think with self-images and optimistic thinking to change my way of thinking and solicitation of becoming a proactive person has now allowed me to imagine myself in a state in my mind and add pieces to the jigsaw puzzle of my life together. I now surely know that I will definitely achieve the post of a manager and will practically achieve all my standards set. This is the end of my state and this is what I actually wanted to create and achieve by taking the long hard roads and going through the phase of change. Till the time I am clear with my vision and not distracted, I know that I will gain it. I guess now I can say that I have a purpose of coming in this field of masters of engineering management. In the beginning I started telling it to my own self that it is very good to have it then again now I can surely use this to force to gain profit at the end of the day. Firstly you have to create a vision in your mind, thinking of that mission one ha perform task on the basis of which ones progress and it shall also contribute to your success is also defined Stephen Covey, The 7 Habit of Highly Effective Person, Page no. 47. By doing a bachlor in civil engineering also going through masters in engineering management, I actually visualized myself as a well self-controlled person. I think which I am becoming today and everything that I have accomplished till date is due to my discipline only. However I was lacking proactivity in my nature and an end goal in my mind to give me further motivation. And how could it be when I had no actual end position to achieve. As stated in the above case, due to which now I have developed a goal and now the disciplines present in my nature motivates me for the same also make me do things to which I had denied earlier. In The 7 habits of highly effective person, page no 76 repeats by saying an effective manager of your own needs to discipline yourself and also do things according to your own free will and work in a way that failure dont do. And I hope that this sense of realization will allow me to be extra dedicated and concentrated towards my goals. After going through a valuable segment of this book, the one which I actually enjoyed, I could see many jigsaw puzzle pieces joining together. How will I become an effective and a smart person in time before its too late? I think it begins with a motive to modify myself and when that change is incorporated you can easily see how things go according to you. I knew that have already started going through this because Stephens learning were making sense to me. Initially I thought of things with a perspective of an engineer to find logics but later I realize that this was applicable sometimes not most. Now I had started doing things in a more tactical, calculative and proactive way at work place but I also considered this in my personal life experience and all the credits goes to the 7 habit of highly effective person. Maybe I am restating to what I had already told but I have to tell not only this paragraph but also these lines affected me in real life. Another phrase of Mr. Coveys book, which laid particular emphasis on listening to and understanding the people who are far across from you to make them understand better, thus allowing everyone to be more efficient and efficient person through encouragement. On seeing my skill I realized that it is not that great. In fact many times I often call off on people because they might know my answers also I get over excited my times. So in all cases I knew that I dont listen to people across from me and wont be able to understand them. To which I am trying to adapt and this thing has greatly affected and my office and personal life. Maybe one day I will control my emotions and discipline myself and then would be able to listen to others properly. It was also fascinating to see how Stephen stated that no person can get training or listening skill and it can be developed on through ones own frame of references, then I knew I will take some time but surely will gain perfection in listening one day. In the book of habits page 121 relates to my thoughts in the succeeding statement that if a person wants to interacts in an effective and efficient way or to make an impression on their own spouse, brother, father etc. you firstly need to understand and listen to your own self. Further I even feel that a change in my mind set, way of thinking and personality is due to this book, I know that this will turn me and modify me into a person who will pay attention to comprehend things in life journey than a person who heeds to react. This was an exceptional point of discussion which was stated in his book that is people usually do not listen to others, they just listen to them reply to their word but nt to actually understand what the other person is trying to speak. They are even making the situation more complicated. To summarize the above situation, there are many things that one person can write about in the book of habits and how these things affected them in different ways. The ideas which Stephen discussed were amazing; this has surely gained much more information for people to actually understand and explain that how one can truly be an effective person in reality. Effectiveness does not only mean leadership to me however this study also applies to ones life in day to day. Through the book of habits I have gained knowledge about human psyche and nature and how to impact your habits to turn into an effective person. The book of habits also helped me in the process of shifting my paradigms and inventing a new set of habits in to my world of discipline. Truthfully speaking, I was a bit doubtful about reading the book and assumed it as another key of success type books. When I started reading the book of habits I got know that how these ideas affected ones life and they also guided me to achiev e the success which I had dreamt of. There is no spell or word to gain success but ones has to adapt such things in their nature and way thinking and through effective working habits, self-actualization process of developing myself and knowing the fact that where a person shall assume himself to be without getting affected by the reality of life. This is certainly the only way to succeed which I will surely apply in my professional career as well as personal life which I known will help me in becoming a proactive person.
